Downtown Fort Morgan is currently being renovated and I had the opportunity to be right in the middle of it taking photos for Son-Haul Inc.
It's fun to be IN the construction zone with a hard hat and safety vest. Add two cameras and everyone LEAVES YOU ALONE. They think you're from OSHA or something. LOL

Brush Rodeo Art Show

This is my first year participating in the Brush Rodeo Art Show. I will have several of my Red, White and Blue series in the show. This is the biggest art show in a number of years.
If you're in the area, come over and see the show and maybe even take in the rodeo too.
The show is open to the public on July 2 from 4 to 7:30, July 3 from 4 to 7:30 and on July 4 from 1 to 7:30.

My dear friend, Wilma, just graduated from earthly living to the heavenly. She was 90 years young. She has been an amazing friend and mentor over the past 20 years to me. She will be deeply missed. No one can replace, Wilma, she was one of a kind! But no one that had been touched by her will ever be the same either.
A few years back, I had the privilege of photographing Wilma and this photo of her with her hands on her Bible have become a cherished reminder of our friend and all she stood for and held dear.
Wilma, you will be missed but I can only imagine you dancing the streets of gold!

I found this on a barn quilt blog yesterday. It is said to have taken a year to paint and is 16'x16'. I am impressed!!! All I can say is WOW!!!!

The centerpiece of the National Civil War Quilt Trail is “Letitia’s Quilt,” inspired by local Civil War heroine Letitia Smith Walter. It was designed by her great-granddaughter and local artist, Carolyn Walter Darke, third from left above. Also pictured are Betsy Tumelson, third from right, who assisted in the painting of the quilt, and employees from CEMC (Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation), who helped raise and attach the 16-foot-by-16-foot quilt to the side of the Good Samaritan Center, 303 Donelson Parkway, in downtown Dover (Tn).

New Barn Quilts

I recently painted two new barn quilts for the Morgan County barn quilt project. The larger, 4', belongs to Kate McBride of 15470 MCR R of Fort Morgan. The pattern is Hawaii.
The smaller, 2', will be auctioned off at the Brush Rodeo Art Show, July 1-4 in Brush, CO and features a movable stainless steel spur.
There are both now in the front windows at the Diamond-Vogel Store at 318 Main St. Fort Morgan. Diamond-Vogel is our paint sponsor. Thanks DV!
